App of the week: Spool

Spool is an app which enables users to save videos, images, and text from the web onto your phone and read later or watch videos without worrying about the file formats. You can watch videos and read webpages on your phone, even offline. Spool provides a spool list and your friends can add items to it and you never have to search for interesting things to read and watch.

Spool combines the functionality of Instapaper, ReadItLater, VLC and flash media players, video downloaders, and bookmarking / bookmarklet tools. And best of all, the Spool mobile app is free (ReadItLater has a free version, but it has limitation, 15 posts onetime).
Spool read list
With Spool, you can save text, images, and videos from any webpage onto your Android device. You can read articles and watch videos even offline (when you are traveling, commuting, or have no network). Spool automatically download saved content in the background and keep your saved webpages and videos synced across all your devices (work/home computers, phone, and tablet). You can suggest items that your friends will find interesting, and have them do the same for you through spool list.

Reading text content in spool

Spool first stores a copy of any webpage or video you’ve requested in the cloud. You can use the Spool web app or mobile app to view those saved content. The mobile app automatically downloads saved contents to your phone for offline access. All videos & images are converted to a phone-friendly format.
